Haywire is a story about a small town in New York State that finds its citizens acting rather strange after the town is engulfed by a bright, strange light.
The eerie, haunting storyline keeps me intrigued. I certainly jumped at the chance to watch all 5 existing episodes. But I question whether I will jump at coming back to their website to watch the sixth episode, when it broadcasts. First of all, they air one per month. That’s a long wait for any production to expect their audience to endure. Second, the content of each episode is thin which is suspicious to me. My guess is that the plot is short and they are trying to stretch as many episodes as they can. Third, the acting is rather amateurish – which isn’t always a deal breaker when it comes to web series. I’ll forgive bad acting if the story is tight. But this just seems to be one more knock against this one.
Even with 3 knocks against this show I’m going to give it half a squashed pumpkin and suggest you at least give it a try. Who knows, you could be lucky and read this blog post after all the episodes have finally aired preventing you from having to wait a month for each individual, thin episode to finally air. I’d be curious to hear what you think of this show too.
