Back in the Saddle again!

I must apologize for such a long stint of no entries. It can get difficult balancing running a company with finding enough free time to continue hobbies, such as this enjoyable blog. I am excited about all the production work I’m enjoying with both my corporate clients and my indie films. I’m working on two films right now: A documentary about public art (it’s been going on for a long time) and a short fiction film called “The Misery of Willow”. I’ll talk more about each of those projects as time moves on and they progress.

In the mean  time, I’m thrilled to get back to reviewing online original shows. My first review, after this hiatus, is of a Seinfeld web series called “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”. The internet has truly achieved a new level of respect as a serious medium for broadcasting entertainment when Jerry Seinfeld and Sony Pictures Television invests their time and money in an original web series. Exciting!

A new look!

This won’t be the last time this blog gets a new look. I get bored easily. Just know this. There will always be two consistencies: One, the name will always be “The Pumpkin Press Review”. And “B”, there will always be pumpkins displayed at the bottom of the review posts (not squashed, half squashed, or totally squashed). And 3, I will always keep a picture of me displayed on the home page of this blog.

Happy Reading, :)

Danielle

Where to go and what to watch

Video broadcasting websites are popping up all over the internet. Online video is the fastest growing entity on the web. YouTube has become the second most used search engine and it isn’t even a search engine. With all this hunger for video entertainment on the net and with tablets and smart phones becoming more and more popular, it can only mean great news for you and me: Endless video entertainment!

Where can you find all this video fun? Outside of YouTube, there are many other websites which are focusing on broadcasting original web series and movies. Even though as quickly as I post this on my blog the list will change with new websites, I still want to share some of the best websites for you to explore to find your online entertainment.

Crackle – broadcasts original web series plus TV shows and movies, all for free. Commercials are minimal and the site is easy to navigate.

Koldcast TV – broadcasts original web series only. Has some of the largest selection of web shows. Commercials are minimal and the site is easy to navigate.

L Studio – broadcasts original web series only. This site is most recognized for broadcasting web series that include some of the biggest Hollywood talent around. Again, easy to navigate and, to date, no commercials.

Hungry Man TV – broadcasts original web series only. Cutting edge videos that push the boundaries. Easy to navigate and minimal commercials – oh by the way, you will enjoy the commercials on this site. They are quite entertaining.

Blip TV – claims itself to be the best online source for original web programming and it’s getting a lot of press for that claim. I wouldn’t necessarily agree with its claim but it is worth visiting. While it is easy to navigate, it is the least easy of all the websites on this list. Commercials are random and if you do get them they are minimal.

Bablegum – broadcasts original films and short films along with TV series and shorts. This site is very connected within the Hollywood circle. Lot’s of Hollywood talents use this site as a creative release for experimental projects. Easy to navigate. Fun to play around in. Commercials are very random.

Have Fun Watching!!

I’ve not fallen off the face of this earth!

Hey there readers! I’m so sorry for the long delay between reviews for original online web programs. I’ve been buried in work these past few weeks. I run my own company and so balancing life with business isn’t always easy.

I’m excited to share with you that I have some fun reviews coming this weekend. Stay tuned. There will be several! By the way, if you haven’t watched “Cell”, I still highly recommend watching it. The second season is out and it doesn’t disappoint.

I will also be sharing some great websites for you to visit regularly so as to keep watching more and more entertaining web videos. AND – I will give you an update on the “don’t miss” Webby awards.
