The Specials is a British reality, soap-opera style show starring some of the most extraordinary young people just starting their adulthood as fellow roommates. What makes these young adults so special is that each of them has Down syndrome. The series follows these 5 roommates as they work together trying to figure out what it means to be on their own in the world.
I’ve cried and laughed while watching this heart warming story, filled with integrity and every emotion. I couldn’t help but fall madly in love with each of these stars of their series. I am addicted to this show. There isn’t an episode I haven’t enjoyed. It is very well produced. I’m surprised it hasn’t received an audience in the millions. I hope this blog helps spread the word about this show. It should go absolutely viral.

The Mimi & Flow Show is about two women trying to make it in New York. Mimi and Flo meet each other in an elevator on their way to a job interview. Neither one gets the job, all because of a fart in the elevator. Long story…
While the story is rather drab and naive, there is an element to this show that makes it fun to watch. It’s interactive. At pivotal points in the plot the viewer gets to determine where the story goes. If you make the wrong choice you could end up with a quick end to the story (which might not be a bad thing). However, you can go back to your choice options quickly and make the other choice and continue watching the show.
It has one or two funny moments. But overall, the story is slow and bland.

The premise has great potential. But the storyline falls short of a fully intact pumpkin. This pumpkin gets half squashed.

I remember when I was hard at work as an actress, my days would be filled with empty free time and so I would spend them watching Soap Operas. Years later, I’ve peeked at those same Soap Operas and much to my surprise not a lot has change in plot or character casting. So when it came time to review a Soap Opera broadcasted on the internet, I didn’t have much hope for giving it a good review. It has surprised me to say I’m about to give a raving review for such a show.
Anyone But Me is a teen soap with a plot that exists around two teenage girls experiencing their first deep love… for each other. It’s decently written with a plot that moves faster than most soaps which is a huge plus in my books. The acting is polished and professional. I enjoy the connection each character has with the other. While I’m far from being a teenager I find it quite engaging. More than a story of two teenage girls and teenage love, Anyone But Me is a story of families dealing with difficulties in life and staying true to each other and true to themselves. It is my opinion that anyone of any age could enjoy this storyline.
