In this original Crackle online series, a typical day for a typical single father of a young daughter suddenly takes a shocking turn when he finds a box at his doorstep. Encased in the box is a loaded gun and instructions to kill someone he’s never met. And if he doesn’t kill this person? His own family (especially his daughter) is at risk of losing their lives. And so the story begins.

This season holds six episodes. Each one is full of suspense and tension. The production is high quality. The acting is polished. The story is well written. I got hooked on this series right away. I love it! It’s intense. It’s daring. It’s shocking!
There are others, who watched this first season, who were quite vocal about their dislike for the way in which episode 6 ended. If you keep in mind that episode 6 is NOT the end of the story, you can get past that it is quite a shocking cliffhanger. I highly recommend that you give this show a try. Click the image above to start watching it. You won’t be disappointed.
A fully unsquashed pumpkin. Of course!

From Peru to Peru is a Webby nominated documentary short that tells the story of a bus load of Peruvians, from the country of Peru (this needed to be stated), show up in the city center of Peru, Nevada. Their mission is to expose these Peruvians of Nevada to the culture and lifestyle of Peruvians from the country of Peru. It’s a playful attempt to share their South American culture with all of us, this documentary’s audience.
The documentary starts by sharing food, then dance and, after, play. These “foreign” Peruvians even manage to convince the local Peru, Nevada sheriff from giving up his doughnuts for a taste traditional Peruvian pastry.

This is a heart warming film that celebrates culture, humanity and friendships. It’s about people being people, loving people. It’s gently funny with a full length smile throughout the entire film. Watch it. It will make you feel good. Click the image above and prepare for a warm tingly side effect. This gets a big fat full sized pumpkin.

“Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” is a web series staring Jerry Seinfeld. The series is generally a talk show where Jerry Seinfeld has a chat with a guest comedian or comic actor, over coffee or even a full meal. Each episode cleverly opens with Seinfeld introducing a car, which could be a Rolls Royce or an old junker that looks like it’s got one more run on the road before kicking the bucket. With the car of the episode, he picks up his comedic guest and cruises on over to a location where they eat, drink and chat.

This show is true to the Jerry Seinfeld style; simple, consistent, clever. It’s tightly paced and funnier than hell. Seinfeld seems to have found another talent. He’s quite skilled in the fine art of interviewing. He manages to ask simple, discrete questions of his guests that manage to get them to reveal some of the most personal and engaging stories about themselves and their lives.
This series is an absolute MUST SEE! If I could give this show TWO unsquashed pumpkins, I would. It’s that good. Click the image above to start watching and have a blast!

The Specials is a British reality, soap-opera style show starring some of the most extraordinary young people just starting their adulthood as fellow roommates. What makes these young adults so special is that each of them has Down syndrome. The series follows these 5 roommates as they work together trying to figure out what it means to be on their own in the world.
I’ve cried and laughed while watching this heart warming story, filled with integrity and every emotion. I couldn’t help but fall madly in love with each of these stars of their series. I am addicted to this show. There isn’t an episode I haven’t enjoyed. It is very well produced. I’m surprised it hasn’t received an audience in the millions. I hope this blog helps spread the word about this show. It should go absolutely viral.

Steve Hayes reviews old classic films in his YouTube web series called, “Steve Hayes: Tired Old Queen”. I’ve watched a lot of movie review shows and none of them have ever demonstrated the volume of entertainment and film knowledge that this series is packed with. Hayes clearly loves films and especially the classics which we should always take time to enjoy. On top of his passion for classic films, Hayes demonstrates an uncanny knowledge of the history of Hollywood films. And if that wasn’t enough on its own to encourage you to watch this series, Hayes also fills each episode with his huge charm and humour.
You will catch yourself giggling, sometimes outright laughing, as Hayes takes the time to educate you, in his own delightful way, all about the making and the gossip of each wonderful classic film, one episode and one movie at a time.

This series is an absolute “Don’t Miss!” A full pumpkin for my favourite “Tired Old Queen”!

The Sessions Project is an interview between musical wonder will.i.am and filmmaker Norman Seeff. This is a production that is co-produced by the new Oprah network, OWN. We get to first see half the interview here in the net broken down into 4 parts (episodes), broadcasted on the L/Studio website. The full one hour interview will air later in the year, on OWN. This is a brilliant marriage between the internet and TV broadcasters. I love this idea. Bravo.
But back to the show… is it worth watching and waiting for the rest on OWN? It certainly is. Even if you aren’t a fan of will.i.am, you are highly entertained by a very well conducted interview. Seeff keeps the audience engaged by poking will.i.am with questions that just keep him talking and talking. will.i.am is a fascinating guy and I found his whole music making process quite interesting.

Legendary musician, Daryl Hall, joined the online broadcasting wave a few years back, in 2007, with his own web show called, “Live from Daryl’s House.” In spite of its casual look and laid back air about it, it is quite tightly produced. The premise is designed around Daryl “hanging” and jamming with his music friends. This show has garnered high recognition from all the major media outlets like Rolling Stone and CNN. And so it should. It’s what music fans have been hungry for, for decades. Fantastic music. Introductions to new up and coming musicians. And live performances of classic Hall and Oats songs.
Each episode is packed with great music and, for some reason, a food segment which, for me, totally works. Music and food. Who’s going to argue with that combination.

I love the way each episode is published on the website, with segments listed in a playlist allowing us to go back again and again to our favourite part. This is a must see. A fully unsquashed pumpkin goes to this amazing show.

Next is a short film that brings the audience simultaneously into the minds and thoughts of both a man and a woman, after they had finished having a one night stand. Before I review this film, let me say, the content is clearly for a mature audience. I recommend caution before watching. Visually, there is no nudity. It’s the audio that is quite detailed.
I love this film and it’s willingness to reveal a very taboo topic. What really does go on in the minds of women and men after sex? This story follows two people and their sexual encounter with each other. Sex is done. Now what? She’s filled with tons of questions. He’s filled with tons of questions. Each set of questions and concerns different from the other.
Filmmaker, Brett Goldstein, keeps no stone unturned in this story, revealing a true conflict of the sexes. We are privy to all these two characters are going through as they awkwardly wrap up the night. The actors beautifully play their characters in an understated manor. The set is so brilliantly dark and difficult to watch as if to demonstrate the lack of connection between the two characters.

Next is a very intelligent film. I highly recommend it – for an adult audience – and give it a fully intact pumpkin.

The best way to describe this series is exactly as it is said on the L Studio site that broadcasts it: “Humorists Starlee Kine and Arthur Jones offer their unique take on popular culture, people and places in this animated series.”
Both Starlee and Arthur are quick witted people who express fresh opinions on everyday cultural topics. But what I like most about this show is the way in which it is visually displayed. It’s completely animated. Even Starlee and Arthur are animated and for some reason it makes this review/talk show enticing and engaging. I love their choice of topics and their honest whit and repartee throughout each episode. It feels as if one is sitting down to visit a couple of great friends. It’s well paced, well written and, of course, well spoken.

You must check this one out. It’s among the most intelligent shows out there! A full pumpkin for these two. Of course.

This short film starts in a jungle where a man finds himself and, soon, his girl injured. We never get to know how the two of them got there. But it doesn’t really matter. This is one of those plot lines where mystery plays a powerful roll in the storyline. We find ourselves following the two main characters as they run from some men they think are a threat… later we learn what they are really running from.
It’s a touching film. Beautifully shot. Well acted and directed. the ending is nothing I expected it to be. I loved this film. I think you may enjoy it too.
